IBC insulating adhesive

Introduction to IBC Insulating Adhesive

PV IBC insulating adhesive is an insulating protective material specifically designed for Interdigitated Back Contact (IBC) cells, primarily used to solve the electrical isolation problem when interconnecting electrodes on the back of the cell. It is widely applicable to various BC technology routes such as HPBC (Hybrid Passivated Back Contact), HBC (Heterojunction Back Contact), meeting the stringent requirements for insulation performance of high-efficiency cells.

I. Composition and Formula Design

The product is based on an advanced resin system, achieving excellent comprehensive performance through precise formula design.

  • System Design: Based on an epoxy resin system, hyperbranched toughening agents (such as hyperbranched polyester amides) are introduced to enhance puncture resistance; inorganic fillers (such as silicon dioxide) are added to improve acid and alkali resistance and anti-warping properties; and a photoinitiator is introduced, enabling the product to cure rapidly within 10-20 seconds under light conditions, thereby greatly improving production efficiency.
  • Basic Parameters:
    • Viscosity:30000±5000 CPs
    • Thixotropic Index:3.0-4.0
    • Hardness:90-100 (Shore D)
    • Curing Conditions:10-20s (365nm / 1500MW/cm²)

II. Technical Advantages and Performance Indicators

IBC insulating adhesive demonstrates several key technical advantages due to its unique formulation:

  • Rapid Photo-curing Process: Rapid photo-curing within 10-20 seconds not only significantly boosts production capacity but also effectively reduces the dielectric constant, thereby reducing energy loss at high frequencies.
  • Excellent Insulation: Volume resistivity must reach above 1.0 x 10^13 Ω, ensuring complete and reliable electrical isolation between electrodes.
  • High Breakdown Voltage: Breakdown voltage up to ≥1500V/AC, providing robust electrical safety protection for the cells.
  • Superior Mechanical Strength: Tensile shear strength ≥10MPa, ensuring long-term structural stability and adhesion.
  • Outstanding Weather Resistance: After 1000 hours of double 85 tests (85℃/85% humidity), the peel strength retention rate exceeds 80%, with no residue or yellowing.
  • Strong Process Compatibility: Can be coated or printed on the back of the cell, curing within 10-20 seconds under 365nm wavelength and 1500MW/cm² light energy, highly compatible with existing cell manufacturing processes.

III. Process Control Flow

We follow a rigorous production process to ensure that every batch of products has stable and reliable quality:

Process Flow: Raw material weighing → Raw material mixing and dispersion → Triple roll milling → Vacuum defoaming → Sub-packaging → Centrifugal defoaming → Finished product packaging

IV. Existing Product Models

To meet the needs of different customers and specific processes, we offer the following standard product models:

  • ES-9615
  • ES-9616

Summary

IBC insulating adhesive is a key functional material driving the development of high-efficiency BC solar cells. Its core advantage lies in its innovative photo-curing technology, achieving curing in seconds, greatly enhancing production rhythm and efficiency. At the same time, it possesses top-tier electrical insulation performance, high mechanical strength, and excellent long-term weather resistance, perfectly solving the complex insulation challenges of BC cell back electrodes, providing a solid guarantee for the long-term reliable operation of high-efficiency PV modules.
